RailKernel for Z21
A complete graphical operating model for Z21 railways
RailKernel connects to Roco and Fleischmann Z21 systems over the local network and brings locomotives, accessories, feedback, decoder programming, routes and automatic train operation into one visual railway model.
Network-based control
RailKernel communicates with the Z21 over UDP and keeps command-station and operational state visible on the graphical railway.
Tested DCC operation
Control track power, locomotives, functions and accessories, receive feedback broadcasts and read or write decoder CVs on the programming track.
Planned around real railway operation
- The Z21 participates directly in RailKernel route calculation, monitoring and automatic driving instead of living in a separate control screen.
- Command-station-specific capabilities will be exposed honestly, without pretending that every central station offers identical functions.
- A Z21-compatible virtual command station is included for repeatable protocol, feedback and routing tests without affecting the physical railway.
